Durability
Cast iron with a 90,000+ pound break strength is overkill in the best way possible. The matte black powder coating resists rust and wear through countless workouts, whether you're rucking in rain or grinding through garage WODs. GORUCK built this plate to outlast your pack.
The rounded edges protect both the plate and your gear from damage. Drop it, drag it, throw it in your trunk — this weight handles abuse without showing stress. It's the kind of durability that makes you forget to worry about your equipment.
Comfort
Ergonomic rounded edges make a real difference when the plate shifts during movement. No sharp corners digging into your back, no awkward pressure points when you're miles into a ruck. The super-wide handles provide secure grip for transitions between exercises.
The plate's design ensures it sits flat and stable in compatible packs. No rattling, no sliding around during movement. When properly positioned in a Rucker or Ruck Plate Carrier, it becomes part of the pack rather than cargo you're hauling.
Features
Purpose-built compatibility with GORUCK packs is the defining feature here. This isn't a generic weight forced into a pocket — it's engineered to fit the Rucker and Ruck Plate Carrier perfectly. The precision fit means quick transitions and confidence during dynamic movements.
Compact dimensions make storage and transport straightforward. The plate slides easily into and out of compatible pockets without fighting fabric or struggling with tight fits. USA manufacturing in Minnesota means consistent quality and supporting American manufacturing.
Value
At $79, this plate costs more than basic alternatives, but you're paying for specific advantages. The GORUCK ecosystem compatibility alone saves frustration and ensures proper fit. Generic plates might cost less but create headaches with poor fit and movement issues.
USA manufacturing, premium materials, and lifetime durability justify the price for serious ruckers. If you own GORUCK packs and ruck regularly, this plate delivers returns through reliability and performance. Budget alternatives exist, but they compromise on the features that make rucking with weights practical and effective.
